This week I’ve been painting few birds in addition to regular studio work. I purchased an iPhone tripod adapter for my gorilla tripod and wanted to see how it works. The iPhone adapter came in different colors (mine is blue!) and the screw portion came with a screw with a ring, so the adapter can be used to hang the iPhone if needed.
Using the Lapse It app, the setting was made to take a photo every 10 seconds. I was hoping to finish the art in 2 hours, but it ended up taking 2 hours and 30 minutes. finished sketch is below. I end up using neutral tint a lot for the eagles. They are turning darker every day!
Second up is the Eastern Screech Owl I’ve been meaning to paint with a hat for few weeks. I made a new layer for every hour, so you can see that I paint quickly at the beginning and slow down as I go. Using the animation tool in Photoshop, I made the layers appear every other second. Blinking eyes are for your entertainment. Prints and greeting cards will be available on the shop page starting May 1.
Hope you enjoy! Let me know if you have any requests!
