This scientific illustration shows the skull of the fossilized turtle skull from the ventral view. This plate describes the cranium anatomy for identification and comparison.
When preparing this plate, I first recorded the fossil as is using various techniques including the camera lucida. Then I compared the two sides and maximized the information found on both sides to recreate a symmetric specimen. The flat grey area indicate areas that are missing from the fossil specimen.
